Welcome to the official website of the Mid Shropshire Crown Green Bowling League for the 2015 season - our 83nd since being established in 1932.

This much-praised site was launched in 2011 to provide all the latest information on league news, dates, competitions and, most importantly, results and tables – all in one place.
Mike Beckett's revolutionary results system, which sees clubs input result details direct into their computers, ensures that is the case, and that superb system will have a change to cope with this year as clubs in the Saturday divisions adopt the unique points scoring system of the highly successful Dennis Lewis Thursday Night Division, which was launched in 2014 and is also eight-a-side. Newcomers to it this year are Shrewsbury-based Prince of Wales Hotel, who are warmly welcomed back.
With their return, our Telford-based league now has 28 member clubs with 1,500 bowlers and provides competition in three main divisions on Friday nights and three more on Monday evenings.
The Jack Jones Junior Division Trophy was re-launched in 2013 and league officers are currently working on a Junior Development Policy to try and attract more youngsters to take up the game.

Mid Shropshire's nomination Mike Potter (pictured) is now serving as County President for 2015, and he has picked Allscott to stage the County Merit finals on Sunday, June 28.

  • Cracking Final - More to Follow Albrighton won a thrilling Ashton Shield final against holders Donnington Wood - after being made to wait nearly 24 hours to get their hands on the trophy. The division four leaders edged out Donnington by just 2 shots after the handicaps were taken into account on Bowring's Premier green on Sunday night.Albrighton had seven winners in the 10-a-side clash on a wet green that ran remarkably considering the rain that caused Saturday's first attempt to be called off.But fifth division Donnington Wood were always in with a shout thanks to a 10 chalk handicap advantage and it took last man George Law to hold his nerve and win 21-11 to seal it for ABC ...

  • Tonight's The Night To Be Shielded! Two in-form teams riding high in their respective divisions, one of them the holders of the trophy – tonight's (Saturday 22 August) Ashton Shield final looks like being a cracker.Last year’s winners Donnington Wood tackle Albrighton on Bowring’s Premier green (6.30pm start) with little to choose between the sides vying for the league's consolation KO title for Monday teams.Division five leaders Donnington have six of their 2014 Shield-winning team back to try and do it again and start the night with a 10 shot handicap advantage. But Albrighton are a club on the crest of the wave and, captained by Elaine Gregory, are right into the thick of the fourth division title ...

  • Don't Forget Change Of Date The date of league's annual presentation dinner for the 2015 season has been put back a week.It will now be held on Saturday, 16 January 2016, and the Telford Whitehouse Hotel has now been booked for that night. The change was made to avoid a clash with Sally Clee's 21st birthday party on January 9, which could have cut the attendance at the league function by more than 30 as Wrockwardine Wood are normally the biggest supporters of the evening.
