Welcome to the official website of the Mid Shropshire Crown Green Bowling League for the 2015 season - our 83nd since being established in 1932.

This much-praised site was launched in 2011 to provide all the latest information on league news, dates, competitions and, most importantly, results and tables – all in one place.
Mike Beckett's revolutionary results system, which sees clubs input result details direct into their computers, ensures that is the case, and that superb system will have a change to cope with this year as clubs in the Saturday divisions adopt the unique points scoring system of the highly successful Dennis Lewis Thursday Night Division, which was launched in 2014 and is also eight-a-side. Newcomers to it this year are Shrewsbury-based Prince of Wales Hotel, who are warmly welcomed back.
With their return, our Telford-based league now has 28 member clubs with 1,500 bowlers and provides competition in three main divisions on Friday nights and three more on Monday evenings.
The Jack Jones Junior Division Trophy was re-launched in 2013 and league officers are currently working on a Junior Development Policy to try and attract more youngsters to take up the game.

Mid Shropshire's nomination Mike Potter (pictured) is now serving as County President for 2015, and he has picked Allscott to stage the County Merit finals on Sunday, June 28.

  • Important Message To ALL Clubs . . . This is a statement for ALL club secretaries and team captains following emergency discussions between league chairman Sean Round, fixture secretary Ric Hudson and general secretary Malcolm Fletcher.  “Due to a number of issues with ‘Unregistered Players’ appearing in teams on the Mike Beckett system that the league uses for its results service, it has been decided call a temporary halt to all punishments – fines and points deductions – imposed for that alleged offence this season.  “It is clear that there is some kind of hiccup that needs sorting and, given that two clubs have already announced they will be appealing against their ‘Unregistered Players’ punishments – and others seem set to follow, the league has decided to act quickly. “This moratorium ...

  • Juniors Aiming At A Famous Five A fifth successive triumph – and on home soil – is the Mid Shropshire goal in the Shropshire junior inter-league championship on Saturday, April 18. But the league’s junior selectors know there is no room for complacency as they send a new-look A team into battle at St Georges from 10am. Only three bowlers – Jodie Rutter, Aaron King and Jamie Fletcher – are left from the team that won the six-a-side crown for the fourth year in a row in Wem last year. And with Whitchurch and Ludlow sending strong teams to Telford, the host league’s selectors – Phil King, Rob Burroughs and Martin Gaut – are taking nothing for granted. Eight teams have entered the one-day event ...
