Welcome to the official website of the Mid Shropshire Crown Green Bowling League for the 2017 season - our 85th since being established in 1932.

This much-praised site was launched in 2011 to provide all the latest information on league news, dates, competitions and, most importantly, results and tables – all in one place.
Mike Beckett's revolutionary results system, which sees clubs input result details direct into their computers, ensures that is the case. That
superb system coped with a big change in 2016 as clubs in the Saturday division adopted the unique points scoring system of the highly successful Dennis Lewis Thursday Night Division, which was launched in 2014 and is also eight-a-side. This division includes Shrewsbury-based Prince of Wales Hotel, who have  been warmly welcomed back into the league, while Trench are joining on Thursdays this year.
Our Telford-based league has 26 member clubs with nearly 1,500 bowlers, providing competition in three main divisions on Friday nights which include Hadley USC following their relegation from the Shropshire Premier League. There are three more divisions on Monday evenings but, sadly, we have recently lost greens at Buildwas, the former base of Abbey BC, followed by Ercall Magna after 41 years at their High Ercall home.
A Junior Development Policy was put into practice at Hadley Learning Community and Charlton BC last year and will continue again this year. And League officers are working closely with Sinclair's junior coaching programme as they actively try and encourage more youngsters to take up the sport..

Mid Shropshire have also begun awarding Life Memberships again in 2017 to recognise the efforts of bowlers to further the sport, both locally and national. Pictured above are the first three recipients at this year's AGM - front left, former BCGBA assistant secretary and St Georges stalwart Barry Griffiths; front right, former League secretary and president and County President in 2005 Jeff Hutchinson; back, former vice-chairman, current general secretary ad county delegate Malcolm Fletcher
