Welcome to the official website of the Mid Shropshire Crown Green Bowling League for the 2016 season - our 84th since being established in 1932.

This much-praised site was launched in 2011 to provide all the latest information on league news, dates, competitions and, most importantly, results and tables – all in one place.

Mike Beckett's revolutionary results system, which sees clubs input result details direct into their computers, ensures that is the case, and that superb system had a change to cope with last year as clubs in the Saturday divisions adopted the unique points scoring system of the highly successful Dennis Lewis Thursday Night Division, which was launched in 2014 and is also eight-a-side. Newcomers to it in 2015 were Shrewsbury-based Prince of Wales Hotel, who were warmly welcomed back into the league, while Shawbury aim to join on Thursdays this year.

Our Telford-based league had 28 member clubs at the start of 2015 with 1,500 bowlers and provides competition in three main divisions on Friday nights and three more on Monday evenings. Sadly we lost Buildwas-based Abbey in September, followed by Ercall Magna after 41 years at their High Ercall home.

The Jack Jones Junior Division Trophy was re-launched in 2013 and league officers are abut to launch a Junior Development Policy to try and attract more youngsters into the game.

Mid Shropshire's nomination Mike Potter (pictured) served as County President for 2015, and picked Allscott to stage a magnificent County Merit finals on June 28.
