New End Of Season Tradition

All seven clubs who are at home for the final fixtures in the Dennis Lewis Thursday Division tomorrow (September 25) will be launching a new league tradition.

Games in the eight-a-side league, successfully launched this year and named after the league's late chairman, are normally finished by 9pm and there is no need to put on food for the bowlers.

But the 14 clubs taking part agreed at a pre-season meeting that whoever was at home on the last night of the season would put on food to mark the end of the campaign.

So Shifnal, Bowring, Charlton, Sir John Bayley, Newport, Stockton and Ercall Magna will make history tomorrow . . .
