The funeral of Roger Teague, the last winner of the County Merit while playing in the Mid Shropshire League, will take place on Thursday, March 8, at Telford Crematorium at 1pm.

Roger died, aged 68, on February 20, having been a proud sportsman - in football, cricket and finally bowls. His crowning moment in our sport was in 1992 when he became Shropshire champion at Maddocks when he beat his former Sir John Bayley Club team-mate and the 1989 winner Ian Lealand in the final.

The eulogy at Roger's funeral will be given by new league president Jeff Hutchinson and the league's condolences go to Roger's wife Joyce and his children.
