Saturday Solutions

There will be promotion and relegation between the new Saturday divisions this year – but no play-off.

A special meeting of the 13 clubs involved agreed the league should split into two groups to accommodate the 17 teams, the new structure being confirmed as a Division A with nine teams and a Division B of eight with fixtures starting on April 13 (2pm).

But they voted in favour of an automatic system of two up, two down – as in all the league’s other divisions - rather than a play-off to decide the second promotion/relegation spot.

Highley are to donate a new trophy for the champions of Division B and league competitions secretary Phil King is to organise a competition for the competing clubs, possibly a team doubles, on Saturday, August 24.
Match fees on Saturdays will be 30p per player and the winners of each division will receive £100 and the runners-up £50.
AND FINALLY, entry forms for the Harris Cup and Ashton Cup have been sent by email to all club secretaries and should be available to download from this website shortly. Entry forms for all of the league's other competitions will be handed out by comps chief Phil King at the April executive meeting on the 2nd - along with handbooks and match result cards
