League officials are hoping for a bumper turnout out to see the showdown the whole of Mid Shropshire is looking forward to - the HARRIS CUP FINAL on Saturday, September 8, between St Georges and Newport at Donnington Wood No 1 - 6.30pm start.
St Georges have won the trophy for the last two years but Newport - with a whole host of former Dragons in their line-up - have just won the Premier League and County Cup for the first time in their history . . . and are now eager to add a first Harris Cup triumph. The FINAL PAIRING are on the appropriate competitions page of this site.
Saturday's hosts Donnington Wood are organising a barbecue for supporters and the Shropshire juniors who will be practising on the adjoining No 2 green for their Drakes Pride final against Yorkshire the next day.
A raffle will be held to cover the cost of post-match food for players and officials, one of the prizes being a copy of the Centenary Book - The Long And The Short Of It - which will also be on general sale on the night, costing £11.
AND FINALLY, a round-up of the leaague's September meeting will appear on the site shortly.
