The first transfer of the season was approved at the league’s May Management Committee meeting. Ian Pessall has been allowed to join St Georges from Donnington Wood after both clubs, their fellow league clubs and officials agreed the switch was within the rules.Pessall, league chairman Sean Round and Madeley stalwart Chris Lodge will soon get their heads together to pick the Mid Shropshire squad for the Shropshire senior inter-league championship in Shrewsbury on June 7.
Clubs have been given an extra seven days to re-arrange games that are called off, giving them a total of 28 days, and competitions secretary Phil King has told them they can re-arrange cup matches – as long as ties are completed at least a week before the date scheduled for the next round.
A number of clubs have been fined £5 for failing to field a full team, playing unregistered and unlisted bowlers and missing the deadline for on-line results.
Full details will be in the official minutes of the meeting, but fixtures secretary Rich Hudson has urged all team captains to show if any game is a walkover. League officers are determined to ensure that every bowler picked to play in a fixture actually gets a game - and that end of season averages are correct by the rules.
