Three Mid Shropshire clubs featured in the semi-finals of the County Consolation Cup.
Local rivals Abbey and Horsehay met on Wednesday, July 11, on the No 2 green (St Julians) at Shrewsbury Severnside.
And it was second division Horsehay who upset the formbook to beat their divison one neighbours by 24 shots, thanks mainly to Barry Roden winning 21-5 in the first four and Paul Yapp 21-8 at the back. Best for Abbey was Peter Burd with a 21-10 card.
Now they will play Old Shrewsbury in the final on the night of Saturday, August 4, at a neutral venue yet to be announced.
The Tanners Shropshire Leaguers won semi-final No 2 on Wednesday, July 18, on the old green at Prees by beating Mid Shropshire division two leader Allscott by 21 shots, Jane Craggs' 21-9 success over the legendary Tony Poole the best of their four winners.
