What A Weekend Ahead

posted Apr 12, 2013, 4:13 AM by Malcolm Fletcher
The league’s Saturday afternoon action springs back into life on April 13 with nine matches to be played, starting at 2pm, in the new two division structure.

Champions Wrockwardine Wood have informed league officials that their Saturday team will be playing on the club’s newer No 2 green this season.

There are five new sides involved – Donnington Wood A and B, Chelmarsh, Highley and Charlton B – making a total of 17 chasing two divisional winning cheques for £100.

Then on Sunday, April 14, Mid Shropshire are hosting the second Shropshire Junior Festival at Donnington Wood and Newport (10.30am start) with league vice-chairman Steve Roberts being the driving force.

He will also be in charge of the Wrockwardine Wood team that has entered along with Newport and Bowring from Mid Shropshire. Full details of the round robin group draw on the SCGBA website.

AND FINALLY, a reminder to all captains of away teams that they need to check the results that are entered into the new system by home club officials within five days of the match being played. The new system is working very well - so keep up the good work!
