It’s nearly here . . . the league’s annual dinner is on Saturday, January 12, at the Telford Whitehouse Hotel beside the AFC Telford United ground in Wellington.
Doors open at 7pm and there will be a seating plan by the main door to the function suite. Meal time is 7.30pm. Bottles of house wine will be available for £10 from a separate wine table and pitchers of lager costing £11 will be available from the bar, which is open until 1am.
Presentation of the 2012 awards is scheduled for 10pm and, beside the disco and dancing, there will be games of Irish Bingo, Heads or Tails and a whisky roll up. A donation to charity will be made from the proceeds.
The guests are George Southall of sponsors Molson Coors, County President Geoff Balshaw, Shropshire’s No 1 referee and bowls cameraman Mike Potter, County Chairman Barry Jennings and – as main speaker - the league’s chairman Dennis Lewis.
AND FINALLY, clubs voted to combine the league’s AGM with the February meeting on Tuesday the 5th at the Sir John Bayley Club (7pm start). So the annual meeting date that had been set for January 22 is CANCELLED.
Delegates at the January Management meeting paid tribute to the work of Frank Booth over the last two years after he announced he would be standing down from the post of fixtures secretary at the AGM.
