Cup Final Cracker!

Two member clubs with proud title-winning credentials are tipped to produce a cracking Harris Cup final on Saturday 22nd September.

Bylet and Bowring do battle on the bottom green at Wellington’s Bayley Club (6.30pm start) for the League’s main team KO honour - with teams packed with Premier League bowlers - see Competition News for the full draw.

Bridgnorth-based Bylet, led by county man Scott Harries, won the County Consolation Cup in 2004 and were Mid Shropshire champions in 1995, 2004 and again two years later.

Bowring, with another county star in Rich Lawson at the helm, lifted the County Consolation Cup twice before making the big breakthrough by winning the County Cup in 2016.

And the Wellington club have also triumphed in the Harris Cup three times since 2003

League secretary Malcolm Fletcher said: “It has all the ingredients to be a close encounter so we are hoping for a cracking final in front of a big crowd.

"And to avoid any embarrassment for League chairman Sean Round, who is Bowring through and through, the trophy ceremony afterwards will be conducted by President Mike Potter and vice-chairman David Evans."
