Many of you may have been aware about this through your places of work and may not have realised that it could affect you at club level with regards to personal data that are held on membership lists etc.

The UK's independent authority set up to hold information rights is the Information Commissioners Office (ICO). The ICO website contains a great deal of useful information including a myth busting blogIt may be prudent for clubs to take some time out and read the guidelines to ensure that you are aware as to how these new regulations may affect you.
