Greenkeeper's Plea For Help

posted Dec 18, 2017, 3:14 AM by Malcolm Fletcher
The call for assistance below was received earlier this month from Eric Hall, greenkeeper at Broseley BC:

"We have a pretty bad attack of Fusarium Patch disease in the Broseley bowling green already - after the extensive autumn renovation programme.

"We don't usually see it until early spring, if at all.

"My question is, are many of the member club's greens also experiencing this?

"From what I have read on the internet it could just be the weather conditions that we are having.

"If this is correct then many other clubs should be having the same problem.

"If they are, what, if anything, are they doing about it?"

So if you have any helpful advice for Eric you can contact him via the League secretary.

And League chairman Sean Round - who has already been in touch with Eric - plans to set up an informal group for greenkeepers to share experiences before the start of the 2018 playing season.
