Merit Countdown - 2 Days To Go . . .

posted Jun 28, 2018, 8:39 AM by Malcolm Fletcher
Family fortunes could well be the name of the game on Saturday 30th June at the Senior Merit finals day at Allscott Heath, 1pm start.

Brothers Dan and Jason Wilson are two of the five St Georges bowlers in the 16-strong field but, being in the same half of the draw, would have to play each other in the semi-final en route to a title success.

However, father and son Phil and Jamie King could come face to face in the final as they came out of the hat in opposite halves of the draw.

Bowring bowler Jamie has already won the Merit in 2012 while dad Phil, the League's competition secretary - who will also be organising the big day, topped the division one averages in both 2003 and 2009 playing for Hadley USC.

But family ties won't mean a thing to the 12 other finalists, which include some star names . . .more of which tomorrow!

The finals day draw is attached to this post . . .
