Merit Countdown - 3 Days to Go . . .

posted Jun 27, 2018, 10:50 AM by Malcolm Fletcher   [ updated Jun 27, 2018, 10:51 AM ]
Another slice of League history is beckoning for one qualifier in in the 16-strong field preparing for Saturday (30th June) and the Senior Merit finals day at Allscott Heath (1pm start).

Sonya Lucas became the first woman bowler to win the first division averages when she topped the pile last year.

And now the St Georges star aims to become the first female to win the Mid Shropshire Merit on what is forecast to be another sunshine day.
.
Bowring's Kate Suggett went mighty close to Merit magic in 2014 when she lost to her dad Richard in the final, but it's Shropshire Ladies team regular Lucas who has the historic breakthrough in her sights.

It's a finals day not to be missed . . .

And it promises to be a bumper weekend for Mid Shropshire bowlers as they have an open invitation to take part in a charity 'draw-for-partners' doubles day in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support at Donnington Wood on the Sunday, for which they must report by 10.30am (see earlier post for full details!).

The full finals day draw for the Senior Merit is attached to this post.
