What a way to end the season . . . members of a trend-setting junior scheme at a Mid Shropshire club are celebrating a successful end to the 2019 campaign.

The under-18s coached at Sinclair on Saturday mornings by Brenda Slingo have rounded off the year with another batch of junior awards.

“Last year’s Level 1 award winners, brothers Daniel and Callum Corbett, Jordan Millman and Byron Fletcher, moved up a grade, taking Level 2 awards,” said delighted County Development Officer and coaching chief Pauline Wilson.

“I was impressed with the Level 2 lads and their understanding of the mechanics of the shots needed - straight pegs, falling marks, round pegs, turnovers and striking.

“They are all playing in the League and will only getter better with this good grounding behind them.

“Sinclair coach Brenda Slingo is doing a great job there, with Thomas Oare and Keane Sutherland also taking their Level 1 awards too.

“I’m looking forward to seeing all these juniors next year and I’d really be pleased if some of them become the first ever Level 3 holders, having the full range of shots under their belt.”
