Clubs Warned To Be Secure

Member clubs have been warned to be on their guard after the theft of equipment from a sports club in the Newport area.

Newport stalwart Colin Rudrum made the warning during Any Other Business at the League's May Management committee meeting.

He said thieves had broken into the club's equipment shed and made off undetected with mowers and various other bits of kit.

Other titbits from the meeting:

SIX transfers approved (all agreed by clubs involved and within League rules) - Ayden Smith from Newport to Hadley USC; Chris Massie from Bridgnorth to Stockton; Phil Jones from Hadley USC to St Georges; William Eggerton from Bowring to Maddocks; Andy Johnson from Bowring to Sir John Bayley; Dan Wilson from St Georges to Sir John Bayley.

Inter-league news - SENIOR KO on Saturday 25th May (7pm), MSBL A v Tanners A & MSBL B v Whitchurch B in the quarter-finals . Neutral venues to be selected shortly and squads to be finalised by May 16. VETERANS one-dayer on Saturday 15th June hosted by Wem League at Meole Brace; JUNIOR one-dayer on Sunday 8th September hopefully at Bowring.

New Charity Triples - a new competition to look forward to, the result of two informal meetings with officers of the Tanners Shropshire League. It’s a triples in aid of charity to be held on Sunday 18th August in Shrewsbury, but open to entries from all over the county. And if it is a success the plan is to take the triples around the county in future years. 
  
Dave Ellis Memorial Shield, the annual ladies versus gents challenge, to be e played at Shifnal on Saturday 21st September with a 6.30pm start.
