Crucial Vote At EGM

Notice for a 2019 Extraordinary General Meeting of the Molson Coors Mid Shropshire League

EGM to take place on Tuesday, 5th March, at the Sir John Bayley Club at 7.15pmall to sign in

This EGM has been called at the request of more than a minimum of one third of the League's member clubs, which was made at the February management committee meeting

   It follows increasing concerns that
some clubs are struggling to field 12-a-side teams in the three Monday night divisions - reflected in the gradual fall in the number of teams in these divisions. And League officers are more than happy to give clubs another vote on making Mondays 10-a-side.

AGENDA

A simple majority - on a one vote per club basis - will decide whether the proposal below is carried and introduced this year

PROPOSED CHANGE TO RULES FOR LEAGUE MATCHES

Laws:

2          (a). Each Friday division team shall consist of 12 bowlers, male or female, and shall play home and away matches with all other teams in the same division. Each game shall be 21 up

(b). Each Monday division team shall consist of 10 bowlers, male or female, and shall play home and away matches with all other teams in the same division. Each game shall be 21 up

Please note - Failure to Field a Full Team & Failure to Fulfil a Fixture rules will then need to be considered if the change to 10-a-side is approved, ie the points and aggregates awarded and the aggregates deducted

BROSELEY AMENDMENT TO PROPOSED CHANGE

TO RULES FOR LEAGUE MATCHES (shown above)

Laws:

2). Each te
am in divisions 1,2,3 and 4 shall consist of 12 bowlers and in divisions 5 and 6 consist of 10 bowlers, male or female, and shall play home and away matches with all other teams in the same division. Each game shall be 21 up

Club spokesperson Gail Hall explained: "For good reasons it was suggested (at a recent meeting) that division 4 remains with 12 per team, the main reason being divisions 5 and 6 are mainly C and D teams of the bigger clubs and are hard to find enough players for. Division 4 teams are mainly B teams of the smaller clubs who have enough players to get 12 per team.
