Mixed Fortunes For Senior Inter-league Teams

The League is proud to have a team through to semi-finals of the Shropshire senior inter-league championship, now taking the form of eight-a-side ties on neutral greens on Saturday nights.

Chairman Sean Round was at the helm as the A team overcame the Tanners Shropshire League by 13 chalks on the front green at Whitchurch's District Club.

They won five of the eight games on Saturday 25th May with last on Cheryl Caswell the 21-9 star of the quarter-final success.

Victory was a fitting reward for the team, most of whom had reached the last four of last year's one-day championship only to lose to Tanners on the same green.

And for a while MSBL B looked like making it a night of double joy as they led SPS Whitchurch B by one shot after the first four on Severnside No.1 at the same time. Chris Hayward won 21-18 but he was one of only three winners as a strong Whitchurch side, with Premier League bowlers, came on strong in the back four to win by 21 shots.
