Both Mid Shropshire-titled bowls leagues are in mourning after the sad passing of Frank Booth on Tuesday 14th May, aged 91.

Frank served as MSBL fixture secretary for a good number years and, despite initial reservations, backed the successful introduction of the Mie Beckett on-line results system.
He held the same role with the Mid Shropshire Senior Citizens League until just a matter of weeks ago, when poor health forced him to hand over the post to son Nigel and grandson Stephen.

Veterans teams were asked to pay tribute to Frank with a minute's applause before Wednesday afternoon's fixtures.

He was a stalwart member of Madeley Cricket Club BC, a long-serving official of the Highley League and was made a life member of the MSBL in 2018, attending a League meeting as recently as March.
Frank's funeral will take place on at 12.30pm on Thursday 6th June at St Mary's RC Church in High Street,. Madeley, to be followed by interment at Castle Green Cemetery. The cortege will leave his beloved Madeley Cricket Club at 12.10pm.

It goes without saying that the thoughts of League officers, member clubs, his fellow delegates and bowlers are with Nigel and the rest of Frank's family at this difficult time.
