Will Merit Hero Try To End Drought?

Emma Massey-Jones has just completed a fabulous four-in-row triumphs in the Shropshire Ladies Junior Merit.

The Newport and Sir John Bayley youngster completed her fabulous four-timer at Wrockwardine Wood to spark a rush of glowing tributes.

But Emma, in her last year in the junior ranks before becoming too old, has yet to win a Mid Shropshire League under-18 title.

So the big question is whether she will be at Bowring on Saturday (31st August) for a 5.30pm start to this year's Under-18 Merit?

Emma has broken into Newport’s first team this season, being a member of the side that has reached next month’s Harris Cup final to play Premier Leaguers Highley on Saturday 14th September Bowring No.2 
She was also a 21-7 best winner at Hanwood recently as Shropshire beat Yorkshire to reach the British Ladies county championship final.

The Under-15 Merit has the same start time on the other green at Bowring and both singles comps will be progressed as far as possible on the night so Competition News for full details
