Best Of British . . .

posted Apr 21, 2017, 12:41 AM by Malcolm Fletcher
The League wishes the women bowlers of two member clubs the 'Best of British' luck on Sunday, April 23, when they head for Shrewsbury chasing glory on the national stage.

Wrockwardine Wood and Broseley are taking part in the British Ladies club championships from 9.30am at Severnside and Old Shrewsbury.

The Wrockites, who lifted the coveted crown in 2008 and 2013, face fellow  past winners Haunchwood, Hoylake & Melrose and Port St Mary in their round robin group on Severnside No.3.

And Broseley having accepted an invitation to take part in the eight-a-side competition, will be in action on Old Shrewsbury No 1 in a group featuring double past winners St Oswalds, Dunlop and Baldwin.

The winners of the four groups will feature in the knockout stages at Severnside, with the final to be played on the huge No.1 green, hopefully starting late afternoon.
