Sir John Bayley's proposed new C team this year is a no-go - that was the sad news for League clubs and officials at the April management meeting.
Their 11th hour withdrawal due to insufficient signings to field 48 bowlers in four teams on Friday night was a real eve of season blow.
It now means there will be two byes in division three every Friday after delegates voted to stick with the published fixture schedule rather than re-organising it totally.
But the Bayley Club will have to pay all the match fees for the side that was withdrawn after the new March executive meeting deadline.
Meanwhile, fixture secretary Ric Hudson informed the meeting that the league will not be providing match cards this season.
Clubs will be responsible for printing their own, which can be downloaded from this website.
Ric emphasised that the results still need to be physically recorded and signed for by both captains, in case they are called in by he League to resolve disputes.
And finally, there is a new page on this website called Club News.
It is specifically set up for clubs to provide information on local issues that may affect visiting teams or bowlers.
Clubs wanting to post warnings are to contact webmaster Steve Wall and he will update the page.
