Hat-trick of Welfare Course Opportunities . . .

posted Apr 10, 2017, 12:50 PM by Malcolm Fletcher
With the spotlight very much on welfare this year, County Welfare officer Barry Jennings has organised two Safeguarding in Bowls courses on Saturday 29th April at Meole Brace BC in Shrewsbury.

The League has booked 5 places on the morning course (9.30am report, course 10 to 1pm) with secretary Malcolm Fletcher and minute secretary Rob Burroughs taking two of the spaces.

But  there are 3 others available as the League's junior selectors Peter Roden and Rich Lawson can’t do that date - and Derek Killen already has his safeguarding certificate.

The course is is conversation based, with no exam at the end of it, and the cost is £10.

And as Barry Jennings says: “All clubs should encourage their members including coaches, volunteers and in particular welfare officers to attend relevant training courses to ensure that all children and adults at risk are safe within their clubs”

So anyone who would like to take one of the 3 places available should contact Malcolm Fletcher on 01952-771134 or 07890-856525 ASAP.
