Last Night Nerves?

The curtain comes down on the 2016 season for teams in the three top Friday divisions tomorrow (16 September) with a number of issues still to be settled.

Division one champions and Premier League play-off hopefuls Donnington Wood A have a 29 point lead as they travel to take on nearest rivals Bowring A, the real worry for skipper Ayden Smith being a possible points deduction for misconduct that will be discussed at the League's October executive meeting.

Wrockwardine Wood B are doomed to the drop but Stockton A (who are away to Wrockwardine Wood B) and Bylet A (away at Allscott A) are separated by just two points as they try to avoid the other relegation place.

In division two, Harris Cup finalists Sir John Bayley A entertain Horsehay B with a 10 point lead over Highley A - but the villagers and long time leaders will expect a big home win over bottom of the table and already relegated Allscott B.

At the bottom, Shifnal A - who not so long ago graced the first division - host Charlton A needing to protect a seven point gap over second bottom Newport B, who are at home to Broseley A.

Sir John Bayley B are home and hosed in division three as they head for Maddocks A, with Trench B and Newport C trying to avoid the unwanted tag of finishing bottom of the pile.
