Second Time Lucky?

The bid for a £7,500 small grant from Sport England to buy  bowls coaching equipment has now been re-submitted.

Spearheaded by the League, with the full backing of the county association, the grant bid is a follow on from the Junior Development Policy which has taken two years to bring to fruition.

If successful, the grant would pay for five sets of state of the art equipment, including bowls of all sizes, that would be available for use at coaching sessions at the League's 26 member clubs.

And it is only by organising such sessions and promotions like open days etc that clubs throughout Shropshire are going to attract newcomers to the sport from outside the traditional family and friends route.

So it's fingers crossed the small grant bid is successful this time . . .
