Sinclair (and MSBL) junior coaching boost

Sinclair's junior coaching club has been awarded £500 by the London Midland railway franchise via its Young Sporting Chance grant programme.

This is reward for the efforts of League vice-chairman Steve Roberts - who is an IT Infrastructure Manager for LM based at Birmingham New Street - Sinclair secretary Kevin Hall and the club's junior coaching leader and qualified coach Brenda Slingo.

The money will be used to buy small bowls, jacks and modern coaching equipment that will help keep the youngsters of today interested during coaching sessions.

The news is a great way to start the year - let's just hope it's the first successful part of the MSBL's bid to provide a platform for member clubs to go out and actively encourage more youngsters to take up the sport . . .

The Junior Development Policy is ready and waiting for clubs and a bid for a £7,500 grant from Sport England to provide them with the equipment needed for coaching sessions for youngsters is going ahead.
