This Time It's Doubles Delight For Maddocks

Rejuvenated League club Maddocks are preparing for another big day in the spotlight on Saturday 25 June.

That's when they will host the finals of the Dixon Driscoll Doubles from 4pm after a modern day record of 44 entries have contested qualifiers from 10am.

Those qualifying sessions are at Charlton, Hadley USC, Sir John Bayley and St Georges (small) with two pairs from each venue to go forward to the finals - when dress code rules will apply.

Details of where the entries are drawn play have been posted on Facebook (Mid Shropshire group), but can be checked with competition secretary Phil King.

Just last weekend Maddocks were top class hosts of the semi-finals and final of the Shropshire veterans inter-league championship when secretary Bob Llewellyn, green keeper Roger Plumb and the Oakengates club's members really pulled out the stops.

And it paid off as Mid Shropshire retained the trophy after a fourth triumph in five years for Tony Roche and the boys!
