Two Clear-cut, One So Close . . .

Reigning champions Donnington Wood A are almost home and dry in the defence of the division one title.

The Bell Boys stormed to a full house 15-0 home win over Sinclair A last night (Friday 12 August) to pull 26 points clear of nearest rivals Bowring A with just five games left to play.

It seems the big question now for skipper Ayden Smith and his team is whether they will apply for the end of season Premier League play-offs - and if they do, can they handle them better than last year . . .

But the title race in division two is wide open now after long time leaders Highley A suffered an 11-4 defeat away to main rivals Sir John Bayley A last night.

That cut the gap between them to just four points, but both are surely certain to be promoted to the top flight for 2017.

And SIr John Bayley B are bang on course to make it a double for the Wellington club as they stand well clear at the top of division three.
