Clubs Contacted As Big Decision Looms

A number of member clubs have been canvassed about the possibility of hosting League competitions ahead of a 'Zoom meeting' of officers on Monday night.

Now that clubs have had time to digest the implications of phase 3 of the BCGBA green re-opening schedule (issued on Monday), they know that holding open competitions is now allowed - under very strict conditions.

That in turn means that leagues are now able to consider promoting their own events - and Mid Shropshire's officers will do just that on Monday.

Whether the demand is there only time will tell, but first they need to see if there are any members clubs that are willing - with all the help the League can give them - to host such comps.

So a small group of clubs (selected as they are bowling clubs and where it is felt such events can be organised and run safely - and of course after risk assessments and within the guidelines of track and trace, 30 max, use of equipment and toilets etc etc) - have been contacted for their views.

The League has its own risk assessment expert in minute secretary Rob Burroughs, with county safeguarding officer Phil Scott on reserve

But there is obviously a huge amount to consider before a final decision on MSB comps in 2020 can be made . . .
